Welcome to the new 1783 Bar & Restaurant at The Burgoyne. At the 1783 we bring fresh, locally sourced ingredients together to create a menu that combines the vision of our Chef, Chris Mcphee, with the rich history of North Yorkshire and the surrounding areas. The 1783 re-launched in 2018 with a stunning new look, new Manager, new menu and new Chef to bring high quality, authentic food to Reeth.
We serve a variety of dishes with differing styles and flavours in a relaxed, informal setting. The team at the 1783 aim to bring a fine dining experience that is accessible to all. The 1783 Bar & Restaurant is open to all visitors. You don’t need to be a guest at The Burgoyne to book a table for dinner or pop in for a drink or a snack.
Moving away from our previous menu style, the new menu allows you to order dishes without having to order a full set meal. We want our guests to experience the full depth of the new menu but at their own leisure. If you’re looking for a quick snack, guests can order bar snacks and lunches while having a drink or two in our newly refurbished bar.
Our new Chef, Chris, brings a wealth of experience with him gaining his skills in the kitchen by cooking at all three AA rosette restaurants at Bovey Castle in Dartmoor and the Alexander House hotel in Sussex. The new menu brings adventurous, authentic dishes that incorporate Chris’ style of cooking with delicious, freshly sourced produce. Our menus show examples of what we have to offer.
